"We want to create durable gloves made from natural materials."
This desire gave birth to the handmade glove “Diamante”.

We Want to Create Gloves Like Diamonds

"Diamante" means "diamond" in Italian.
The name diamond comes from the Greek word "adamas," which means "invincible."
It is said to be the hardest natural material and highly resistant to scratches.
We named our glove “Diamante” to reflect our desire to create strong, durable gloves using natural materials.

The Journey of Glove Exploration

Our founder, Harashima, has been a glove enthusiast since his days as a player. After graduating high school, he turned his passion into a career by joining a local sporting goods store, where he quickly became the go-to expert for baseball gear. Over the years, he sold and personally shaped more than 3,000 gloves and mitts annually, gaining hands-on experience with products from countless manufacturers.

One thing became clear—gloves are incredibly personal. You don’t truly understand how a glove feels until you put it to use. Harashima noticed that many customers weren’t fully satisfied with their purchases, so he began analyzing feedback in detail to better understand what players really needed. His goal? To improve customer satisfaction by providing gloves that felt right from day one.

But he didn’t stop there. Harashima personally tested and used over 60 to 100 different gloves across multiple brands, immersing himself in the player’s perspective to ensure he could recommend the right glove for every individual. His in-depth, user-first approach helped drive sales and build trust with athletes at all levels.

What did he discover? That no two gloves are the same—not even within the same brand. Change the model number, and the entire feel might shift. A different series might use a different leather. Even color variations can affect stiffness and break-in time. And yes, even gloves with the same model and color can feel different depending on the craftsmanship.

That complexity is exactly what drew Harashima in—and it’s the foundation of our commitment to helping you find your perfect glove.

The Discovery of “Finish Ayrshire” Leather

Every glove is handmade from natural materials, making each one truly one-of-a-kind. No two gloves are ever exactly the same. With that in mind, our founder made it his mission to create gloves that would genuinely move players the moment they held them—gloves they could trust as loyal partners on the field. Driven by this belief, he left the sporting goods store where he had worked for 13 years and launched his own brand: Leggera (meaning “light” in Italian).

It was at this turning point that he encountered what would become a game-changer: Finish Ayrshire leather, crafted by the renowned Jutelle Leather Company. The moment he touched it, he knew—it was something special. That same day, he decided it would become the core material of the Leggera glove lineup.

Gloves made with Finish Ayrshire leather offer unmatched structure and firmness, providing the ideal snap-back resistance against hard-hit balls. The sound when the ball hits the pocket is crisp and sharp, and the feel? Like the ball is magnetically drawn to the glove. This isn’t just another leather—it’s a revolutionary material that maintains its form and performance for years.

Word quickly spread—both from users and across online communities. The most common feedback?

“I could never go back to using another glove.”

The Birth of “Diamante” — Built to Last, Built to Evolve

Our new brand, Diamante, was born from a desire to take craftsmanship to the next level. For this series, we worked directly with Jutelle Leather to develop a custom version of Finish Ayrshire leather—stronger, stiffer, and more durable than even the premium leather used in our Leggera gloves.

The result is a glove with exceptional structure and resilience, built for serious players who demand top-tier performance and longevity. It’s a glove that doesn’t just perform—it endures.

In recent years, many gloves on the market have focused heavily on quick break-in and “game-ready” marketing. But in doing so, they often sacrifice long-term durability. We believe that kind of trade-off doesn’t truly serve players who value their gear.

Diamante gloves are designed to be different. The more you use them, the better they fit. Over time, they mold perfectly to your hand and playing style, becoming a true extension of the player. Carefully engineered to maintain peak performance for the long haul, this is a glove you grow with—not grow out of.

The Symbol of Diamante: The Virgin Mary Embossing

Every Diamante glove carries a special symbol—an embossed image of the Virgin Mary in the palm.

Throughout history, the Virgin Mary has been revered as a symbol of eternity, protection, and everlasting life. We chose this icon to represent the very soul of Diamante: timeless quality, uncompromising materials, and masterful craftsmanship.

Like a trusted companion, a Diamante glove molds to your hand over time, growing with you—season after season—into something more than just gear. That small embossing at the center of the glove is not only a mark of durability, but also a quiet presence, always there, watching over you on the field.

In the heat of the game, when pressure runs high, feeling that symbol in your palm brings you back to yourself—to the rhythm, the confidence, and the focus you’ve trained for. It’s our hope that Diamante becomes more than a glove. We want it to be the gear that carries your passion, your story, and your dedication—for years to come.

“Finnish Ayrshire”

Finnish Ayrshire—commonly known as “FA”—refers to a premium leather made from the hides of castrated male Ayrshire dairy cattle, originally bred in Finland. The name was coined and trademarked by Jutelle Leather Co., Ltd., the first company to develop this exceptional leather specifically for baseball gloves.

What sets FA leather apart is its incredibly fine grain, remarkable firmness, and dense, durable fiber structure. However, these natural qualities alone aren’t enough to create world-class glove leather. It takes a master tanner to unlock the true potential of the hide.

That’s where Jutelle’s expertise comes in. With decades of experience, they developed an entirely original tanning process tailored exclusively for FA leather. From carefully adjusting the tightness of the fiber texture to optimizing the feel, they’ve created a material that offers the perfect balance of strength and responsiveness. The result is a one-of-a-kind leather that’s ideal for both firm, structured gloves and softer, more flexible designs.

FA isn’t just leather—it’s a material engineered with purpose, precision, and passion.
